EXPENSES - LUTON LABOUR MP suffers 'Dry Rot'

Labour Luton South MP Margaret Moran spent £22,500 of tax payers' money treating dry rot at her and her partner's seaside house in Southhampton, a hundred miles from her constituency days after switching her second home there. When it comes to feathering one's nest and dealing with issues with real people such as compensation for Equitable Life pensioners (recommended by the Parlimantary Ombudsman) the priorities are clear to see.

This whole affair has made the post of the Luton South MP a laughing stock. At the Colin Smith memorial concert at The Grove Theatre Dunstable on 10th May 2009. The compere for the evening even made light of MPs expenses and second homes miles from Luton or Westminster to the audience's amusement.

As an association we welcome David Cameron's robust and unequivocable response to MP's expenses and hope this will be a start for more transparent and reasonable claims from MPs of all parties.
